Festival dell'Educazione 29 November - 2 December 2018 Turin, Italy
We are please to announce that the City of Turin, as a UNESCO member of the Global Network of Learning Cities (GNLC) network since 2016 and as a LEA partner, has recently organized the 3rd edition of the Festival dell’Educazione for a creative, critical and civic thinking. It was organized in collaboration with the Education Services Division and ITER - Turin Institution for Responsible Education.
During the festival, two LEA Workshops about innovative learning technologies were organized in order to raise interest for the innovative tools which students and teachers could use in class. This took place in relationship with the City of Torino's engagement in the LEA project as one of the partners in the LEA consortium with other EU partners from Finland, Sweden, Portugal, Spain, Austria, Germany, Hungary, and Italy.
Workshop 1:
DISCOVER THE VIRTUAL REALITY TOGETHER. INNOVATIVE DIDACTICS WORKSHOP
Organized in the framework of the European LEA project, the workshop was aimed at teachers of secondary schools, interested in practical experience about innovative learning technologies and also at teachers of low secondary school (scuole medie). LEA’s project coordintor, Kati Clements, University of Jyvaskyla (Finland), was invited and introduced the audience to LEA. After her presentatioon, Elena Deambrogio and Laura Ribotta, City of Torino, showed the needs analysis results of LEA, which was carried out in Torino schools in September and October 2018 and the Torino City Lab, which offers new learning technologies and methodologies in an innovative learning space.

Workshop 2:
CAPACITY BUILDING ON PUBLIC PROCUREMENT OF INNOVATION FOR THE WORLD OF SCHOOL
The speaker, Sara Bedin (LEA consortium member), introduced the audience to PCP (Pre-Commercial Procurement) and PPI (Public Procurement in Innovation), explaining the basic concept behind procurement, citing advantages for public stakeholders and for users, when using procurement in acquiring new learning technologies. She answered many questions asked by the interested audience, providing practical exemples from the field, where PCP and PPI are already in use.
