The use of digital learning platforms for students with special needs

Students with special needs have individual learning needs that require specific digital platforms designed for special education. Learning aids such as books are difficult to individually modify to students’ needs. Students with special needs often lack the skills in terms of digital and technological competence. An easy to use platform that allows each student to create their own learning profile with the help of the teacher would be very useful. In these learning profiles students would be able to study according to their personalized curriculum. The platform would underline the core contents of each school subject. The profiles could be used in the transition phase of special education. Students with special needs would benefit from cross-curricular materials that are digitally adaptable. Students with special needs have an individual educational plan (IEP) and the platform would support its’ evaluation.
